Budget Shortfall

How is that every school system in the state of Georgia seems to have a budget shortfall ? Or maybe every school system in the Atlanta Metro Counties seems to be short of their budget. I was watching on the news where Clayton County is 50million dollars short. Clayton will have to furlo teachers, and get jobs inorder to get the budget back on track.

I often wonder who was keeping the books when they just noticed the school budget problems. I really think the school systems across Georgia is in a real crisis, and needs help fast before more school school closings occur. Dekalb County Schools are closing a number of elementary schools next year due to the budget crisis.
Parents are really upset about the set back to kids eduction and the redistricting that will come as a result of Dekalb County shutting down certain schools in their area.

Image via Wikipedia The Public School System in Atlanta is having its fair share of problems. Students in the school system seem to be getting less attention due to the politics of education. Atlanta school system has so many factors on the table about how the students should be getting educated that its affecting the students education.

Unfilled Jobs

Image via Wikipedia As the school year progress on many teachers leave their positions due to stress, over crowed classes, and the work load being to much. The public school system seems to be getting worst with over crowded classrooms and less teachers to fill the positions. The board of education in most school system seem to have created a problem by not offering competitive packages that would make a teacher want to stay in the profession. The annual salary is not that great when it comes to the work load that most educators have to deal with.

Parents Involvement with Menu

Image via Wikipedia School Menus should have parental involvement. The school dietary system that creates menu's for the kids in the public school system is poor and needs some reviewing. I think that it would be good for parents to get involved in creating a school menu with in the school budget.

Parents should sit down with the school board and the cafe staff and create new menus that will be healthy for the kids.

Serving Food with A Smile

Attitudes inside the school system is a huge problem. The caferteria staff always seems to have an attitude when serving the students and teachers inside the Atlanta Public School District. Low wage paying jobs seem to keep people in low spirits. When the staff cooks food for the students, the energy you give off goes into the food and along with the bad attitudes.
Many people who work inside the public school servicing industry are not making alot of money. The attitudes they give off when providing customer service is poor. I think that if the staff needs training on how to serve people with a pleasing personality.

Processed Food

Processed food is killing are babies inside the public school system. Process foods like cheese, bread, milk, and meat really bad on the kids diet. Kids are being feed alot of food that is bad on their body. Eating these types of process foods also effects the learning of the student. Students are being feed food that is really not healthy for them.

The school board really needs to take a serious look at the food being feed to our children. An increase budget for school menus need to be taken into consideration. Junk food along with process foods are a large part of the school diet.
