Education and The Hiphop Generation

The school system is in danger thanks to the lack of education being administered to are youth. The generation x is what they call us, because we don't have any sense or direction. Students are dropping out of schools on a regular basis. The hip hop generation doesn't like authority, or like to follow direction so most adults think. We, the hip hop generation, watched our parents fall by the way side due to fear, unemployment, race, and gender. Our Youth in the school system has taken an i don't care approach, which has caused problems with the development of the students education. Many teachers don't understand how to solve the problems dealing with kids who come from the hip hop generation. Foul language, teenage pregnancy, and constant disobedience makes any classroom difficult to learn in. You ask what can I do to help reach this generation who doesn't want to learn.

I am cool water a rapper, and a teacher in the classroom myself, who looks on both sides of the spectrum. In this world there are laws, or rules that we all must follow if we are to become productive citizens. One constant that never changes is tough love, no matter how hard a student may appear to be each one of them wants to be loved. Kids always seem to relate to the person that understands their struggle. Kids relate to a person who does not cut them any slack inside the classroom when it comes to academics. Most teachers don't want to get on the students level. You must find out what they like, and don't like to understand how to beat the enemy of disobedience inside the classroom.

Teachers, you must make it a point to learn their language, so you can elevate them to a level beyond the ignorant thinking that so many of them display. Teachers, if you don't find out what the hip hop community is about, its just going to leave you angry when it comes to teaching these kids inside the classroom. Every child can be reached ,but on what level do you want to reach them is the question?
